Welcome - About this Site
** NOTE ** The CAD4NASA web site is being decommissioned ** NOTE **
The CAD4NASA effort has been undergoing a transition to NASA’s Commercial Smallsat Data Acquisition (CSDA) Program. Access to Maxar data is now being handled by the CSDA program that manages NASA’s commercial satellite data evaluation, acquisition, and distribution.
For those already registered with CAD4NASA, your status as a registered user will transfer to the CSDA program. All requests currently in progress will be fulfilled by CAD4NASA.
To request access to Maxar, as well as and other commercial data sets, first complete the CSDA Program Authorization Request Form. If you have already been a registered CAD4NASA user, you can go directly to CSDA's Maxar request form.
For additional information about the CSDA program, visit the CSDA Program web page.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), in partnership with the Civil Applications Committee (CAC), which includes NASA, provides access to its immense archive of unclassified commercial high-resolution satellite data from several of the DigitalGlobe (a Maxar Technologies company) satellites, to non-DOD government agencies under terms of its NextView contract.
The NextView contract (see slide at left for details) stipulates that the data can be used by all branches, departments, and offices of the U.S. Government. With appropriate approval and acknowledgement, the data can also be shared with NGO's, state/local governments, intergovernmental agencies, as well as universities, and foreign governments if the use is in support of U.S. government interests. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center has been tasked with providing an interface to access these data for NASA-funded investigations.
After registering, you can submit data request parameters that we use to search for high-resolution commercial satellte data via limited-access interfaces. Details about each of the sensors and their available coverage can also be found here once you gain access. This site does not directly link to active searching. Search request information is submitted via a web form and the discovery tools are used by our staff to satisfy requests.
